Go for it
Very informative and will help with focusing on compliance with IEC 61511
What I say to anyone thinking of doing the course? Do it!
Yes it is very good
Interesting and useful, however if not knowledgeable get familiar with the concepts before attending
You need to be 'exposed' to the concepts for a number of years beforehand.
This is a complicated subject!
Good well structured, relevant material. Some calculatoions of PFD would be useful.
Ensure revision guide is read thoroughly several times prior to attending. Ideally over a few weeks.
This has gave me a much improved understanding of what is required and will also allow me to share with others.
Worthwhile and informative, however fast paced and intense at some points
I would recommend
Vastly improved knowledge on a number of functional safety elements
Have a basic understanding of Functional Safety. Perhaps even attempt to go through the standards 61508 / 61511.
Dil knows his subject matter very well and is a good teacher.
Plenty of grit and determination
I learnt that a lot of the course material needs to be applied within my workplace
I’d recommend anyone to attend – I can now confidently apply the techniques

Alternate day classes was a very good thought as we got time to read and revise
I learnt that upstream project activities / process safety deliverables are functional safety critical
I realise how little i actually know
Course is insight to best practice. Dil Wetherill is expert in Functional Safety.
The star to finish structure and requirements. I have seen snapshots of the process in isolation during my working life but often without considering the wider process/lifecycle. Task focused, not process focused.
I now understand what people are talking about in my job role!
Good idea! intensive course with a lot of material
Well worth the time and effort in continuing CPD and getting certified
Course could be longer (say 5 days)
highly knowledgeable trainer defining key fundamentals of functional safety
I learnt a greater understanding of 61511 and how it relates to my site
Course material is good and comprehensive
Go for it!
Be prepared to study
More links to the actual clauses in the standard please
I now know what to ask of SIS designers and suppliers of equipment
Increased knowledge, really happy
It has consolidated a lot of my understanding of this subject, and answered a lot of the WHY's as to the reason some things are carried out.
Will be recommending to others, definitely
Good practical examples
It is definitely worthwhile
Worthwhile and informative
A must for the basic knowledge on the subject. 2 colleagues booked for next year
learnt a lot and am more confident of answering functional safety questions from the knowledge gained.
Revise - prepare prior to attending
The course has came at the right time for me suiting what I am currently involved with onsite. This has gave me a much improved understanding of what is required and will also allow me to share with others.
It gives a good overall knowledge of 61511 and the tutor makes it understandable and relevant
Read the standards before attending
I would recommend it
A good understanding of the lifecycle and my requirements within this
The course has delivered a step change in my knowledge and understanding of F.S.
I would recommend the course

Great foundation level course to help fill the gaps for people involved in functional safety
Provides overview and structured approach to functional safety
Definitely recommend as I think it challenges you to analyse the gap in your own knowledge and realise the importance of ensuring you are relevant in the subject.
I feel I am now clued up on 61511 and its proper execution in my workplace
Shows what is required to achieve a successful safety lifecycle.
Highly recommend for EC&I leaders of any site
I would recommend the course but would warn that an understanding of some terminology and base concepts is recommended
