TUV Certified Functional Safety Expert in IEC 61511 and IEC 61508

Approach

=Method will support you to collect and present evidence that you meet the requirements for certification as an expert, then manage the application with TUV Sud on your behalf. If =Method identifies any gaps in your evidence, we will advise you as to what actions you can take to fill those gaps.

Requirements to attain the award

Requirements for TUV Functional Safety Expert certification with =Method:

• Hold TUV Sud Functional Safety Professional certification (or equivalent).
• Be able to demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of experience of working in the field of functional safety (note, attaining the TUV Sud FSP certification already demonstrates a minimum of 6 years of experience).
• Provide two case studies (covering different areas / phases of the functional safety lifecycle) for assessment (note, =Method Workshop case studies are accepted, otherwise delegates can submit work-based projects for assessment).
• Provide evidence of having led a functional safety project, which can be shown to be at the level expected of Functional Safety Expert.
• Provide evidence of presenting papers at conferences, being involved in relevant industry associations or developing training standards and guidance (note, =Method delegates may apply to present a paper at =Method’s Functional Safety Roadshow).

Cost

The application fee for TUV Functional Safety Expert certification is £1800 + VAT. The fee is only paid when the Functional Safety Expert award is made.
